Read both Chapter 7 of Jane Eyre AND Munro's short story "Boys and Girls." Write an essay in which you explore the theme "rite of passage through education." How do the protagonists' upbringing and education (through books, experiences, their parents' values, etc.) help them develop, respectively, into adults? Based on the readings, is the idea of a "perfect woman" universal regardless of education and upbringing, or are different characteristics and behaviors emphasized based on one's culture and other factors? Develop three key points examining this theme, and use citations from the texts to support your position.
